I met Sarah Clark two years ago at the Mind-Body Fertility Conference. She had just released her book Fabulously Fertile and was doing a book signing.

Sarah also struggled with infertility and conceived her two children through IVF with donor sperm. Sarah has continued to dedicate her life and work to helping others conceive. Sarah studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a certified life coach. Sarah’s book is amazing!

It was August 1998 and I thought I was going crazy!  I had just come back from a visit to my OB/GYN and wastold that I would never have my own children.  I had premature ovarian failure and would need to use donor eggs to conceive.

My plan was always to start a career, get married and have babies.  As a Type A personality and someone who always had a plan, the news that I couldn’t conceive was like being slapped in the face.  I was stunned and shocked.  I didn’t have anyone to talk to that really understood. My family and friends tried to be supportive, but they just didn’t get it.  For the first time in my life I felt lost.

  • I didn’t really take any time to grieve or really let the news sink in.  I swung into action and contacted my local Fertility Clinic.
  • I was obsessed and on a mission to conceive.
  • I didn’t take the time to figure out why my body had stopped ovulating.
  • I accepted my diagnosis at face value and moved into action.

Infertility is a disease affecting 1 in 6 couples in Canada.  I like to say that your body will whisper to you and when you ignore the signals, it will start shouting at you, usually in the form of disease. I ignored all the signals, such as the chronic vaginal infections, the chronic sinus infections, the weird rash on my chest and the eczema.

Fortunately for us, IVF was a success and we had both our children with donor eggs.  I feel so blessed that we were able to have our family, while so many others struggle, often in silence.

Fast forward years later, my health was definitely suffering. Although I could still function, my immune system was so low I began to experience many chronic health complaints.  The vaginal discharge was still there, chronic bladder infections (I became allergic to many different type of antibiotics) and chronic sinus infections (every cold turned into a sinus infection).  I also had frequent headaches, brain fog and extreme fatigue.

After taking a health coaching course, I was finally able to get to the bottom of my health issues. After doing a 10-day elimination diet I discovered I had a food intolerance.  As I eliminated foods from my body, my health began to improve.  Over time, with nutritional therapies and lifestyle strategies, the yeast, sinus and bladder infections began to disappear.

I believe if I had found this information out years ago I would have been able to conceive naturally.  That’s why after studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and becoming a certified life coach, I began to dedicate my work to helping couples that were struggling with infertility.

Presently, I work closely with a Functional Nutritionist who specializes in food allergies and auto-immune disease.  When we address the whole person and not just the symptoms we create an opportunity for healing.

Nearly everyone that I speak to that is struggling with infertility, struggles with other health issues too. These other health issues are often the key to unlocking the root cause of the infertility.

That’s why I would love to invite you to a FREE 15 minute Fertility Discovery Session.
